The next best thing to sitting in a café is observing one...

  1. Your street photography is always so evocative of place and feeling. Your style of showing people without infringing on privacy is one I truly enjoy. The discussion the couple is having makes me smile - so much story in these photos Catherine. I'm going to send your blog's url to an American friend who has lived in Paris for about 45 years. She's also an avid photograper, though she doesn't blog.

    2. Hi Catherine - I'm "the American friend who has lived in Paris for 45 some years". I am also quite taken by the way in which you photograph people and remain so discrete. Most particularly, I love the way you work with Depth of Field. I will be following your blog from now on. Elizabeth

    3. Hello Elizabeth (very nice to "meet" you!) - Thank you so much for your visit and wonderful comments. I'm a rather shy street photographer (which explains the discretion ;) Perhaps one day we can meet in the city we now call home...

  2. I so want to experience a Parisian summer like the images above. I imagine that life is slowly paced and full at the same time. How lovely to imagine this life.

  9. While not disputing that a cafe in Paris would be a wonderful experience, Catherine, there are many such places worldwide where people meet to enjiy food and talk. Your photos are very evocative as always.
