Bonne Année | Happy New Year!

1.07.2015
Paris Bonne Annee
Paris Palais Royal

Along with a parade of other parents and their children, my boys and I have managed to slip through the front doors of school just as they begin to close, greeted by the blaring morning bell and the unhappy face of the school Director. Behind that austere stance though, I sense she bears compassion for our having made it at all these post-holiday days, as we mirror the sleepiness of Paris in winter, still quiet and heavy at eight-thirty in the morning...

but alas it's 2015! Bonne Année! I know I shouldn't be feeling so groggy still, please bear with me... it's tough to bounce right out of holiday mode. Have you managed to do it? I'm also keeping my festive decor up for as long as possible and so happy to find pockets of Christmas still hanging around the city as well :)

  2. Bonne Annee! I like to keep the Christmas decor up after the new year as well ! Helps cheer January and a shame to put such lovely things away too quickly.

  5. It is so hard to bounce back after the holidays....this year I couldn't wait to take the decor down. But then, I put it up earlier than usual too. Rebecca

  6. It is so hard to get back in the swing of routine. Still struggling here, too. I'm with you with keeping those pockets of light in cheer. There is far too much darkness in the world. And...I'm so glad you are safe and sound after recent events.

But boy, we are hanging on to the Xmas lights at home and to the Christmas tree :-) Jus told the girls tonight that we will put the decorations away this week-end and then decided that we will find another reason to celebrate. smile. look ahead. Hugs to you, Catherine.

  8. Welcome Back, Catherine, and yes the post holiday recovey does take awhile. As we were also away for 2 weeks during Christmas with my mother's passing, we too are leaving up the holiday decorations, cards, etc.
So sorry about the tragic events that unfolded in your new home city this week.
