On the Cusp of Spring | Paris

We waited so long for the beginnings of Spring, so ready to shed all traces of Winter. But once Spring officially arrived, it told us to remain patient still... so we sit on the cusp of two opposing seasons however far our feet dangle over the edge ready to leap onto the other side. The temperatures are slowly ticking upwards, but ever so slowly. Soft sunlight beckons us in the morning and tricks us into believing we can fling open the windows.

These days of transition are paralleled all around us, our societies in a constant state of change. And for me, at home, my boys are getting older, becoming more and more independent, more unlike little boys, also making that shift from one stage of boyhood to another. This beautiful bittersweet ballad plays on and on and on...

Bonne Année | Paris

Seems this little space slept through the new year (hello jet lag!)... and took the cue from sleepy winter mornings in Paris when the sun rises way after coffee and school drop-off, somewhere around 8:45am. It's easy to take it slow during this time when cold and grey abound, but it's also a great time to hunker down and get work done!

So I've spent the daylight hours working on the project I've resolved could use some much needed attention this new year - my little shop, The French Kiosk. Over the holidays, swirls of fresh ideas arose bringing with them renewed enthusiasm and energy.

I hope your 2016 is off to a great start! Here's to marvelous moments of productivity for all we endeavor to do these coming months, to pursuits both personal and creative :)

Autumn in Paris: La Vie en Orange...

After a short heatwave in July followed by a brilliant Summer of warm sunny days, Paris, as brazen and impetuous as she is beautiful and beguiling, decided before the end of the season that it was a fine time to switch wardrobes... and so just like that we fell into Fall and autumnal rituals - hot chocolate, thicker blankets, added layers, the crackle of falling golden leaves underfoot.
