Visiting Summer in Paris...

The official start of summer break for the boys is in a few days, and they're doubly excited this year because they get to mark it with the arrival of their beloved uncle and aunt from the States! It is also the first of hopefully many family visits from across the big blue ocean.

We plan to share with them a more intimate Paris, the more familial city that is for now our new home. The one that includes regular runs to the boulanger and fromager, leisurely walks along the Seine, stops at our favorite neighborhood cafés, and maybe even a picnic or two.

We'll also be heading out to the Loire Valley and the Champagne region as well. If you'd like to come along, I'll be posting on Instagram @catherine_goron :) a bientot!

  1. Oh, you know I want to come along! Love the window box with the hint of another building reflected in the window! And the black and white - stunning! {make sure to find my post from the end of last week...my dad on the first floor of the eiffel tower!}

  5. Great news about your family visiting! I can only imagine how it makes you happy too :-) Hopefully Paris will be kind to your visitors, show its sunniest side (I cannot say "warmest" right now, we need to be careful what we wish for...). I will be happy to follow your discoveries on IG of course! Happy summer to you and your family, Catherine.

  10. Do the boys need another defacto aunt? I'd apply! I think your plans for showing the family Paris sound amazing and would be exactly how I would want to experience it. No big touristy things, but just real life!

  11. Hi Catherine,

    Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and leaving a comment. It means so much to me when the visitor actually took his/her time to read what I'm writing in my humble domain here in the world wide web! It also means so much to me that someone took her time to let me know I'm not alone with this ... I moved here to Singapore to be with the man I love (who happens to be a French, too!) And same with you, I also moved 16 months ago -- and it still does feel like "moving in" despite all those months.

    I'm glad to see that you're sharing your photos in IG too. I could get extremely busy at times and that usually ends up with me neglecting my blogging hobby. IG is more accessible as it's in a more simple platform for browsing on the mobile phone -- so I'm happy to follow you there, too! And thanks to finding you in IG, I also discovered there that Karen of http://chai-and-chardonnay.blogspot.com/ , one of my favorite bloggers is in IG, too! I haven't been bloghopping that much lately so I didn't notice her IG presence right away.

    In case you're a fan of linky parties, I used to participate in one called "Dreaming of France" hosted by Paulita at An Accidental Blog - http://paulita-ponderings.blogspot.com/search/label/Dreaming%20of%20France%20meme

    So long for now! A bientot!

    Maria

    PS. I had to fly out of SG so I didn't get the chance to get flowers for my place. I thought of saving the bucks instead of leaving the flowers behind unattended. Missing my flowers, I'm very glad to see those bright blooms on the window box ;-) Merci beaucoup!

  14. Beautiful photos! I'm sure the kids are ready for the summer vacations to start. Isn't this weather we're having something?! Personally, I like the heat, but not everyone is d'accord on that. Enjoy your family's visit.

  16. A wonderful upcoming visit with family and fun excursions, plus the end of the school term...what a wonderful combination of things to look forward to enjoying. And, yes, I too would enjoy those activities, Catherine. No need to say "enjoy" as you are already savoring the fun...and so are we all.
